Spanish
If ever there was a romantic setting then this is arguably it; a gently ascending stone stairway gives way to a cobbled terrace, sheltered from above by the intertwining of vines. Charming candlelit tables draped with traditional Spanish cloth align the narrow street, with accompanying views over the ancient fortifications of Dalt Vila making the venue all the more special. Alternatively, out of high season when temperatures tend to drop, there is a rustic farmhouse-style dining room to enjoy the typical Mediterranean cuisine.
In characteristic Spanish style, fresh meat and fish dishes dominate the menu. The creative spring-style rolls filled with avocado, prawn and Mediterranean vegetables are consistently in high demand as a starter. For the main course, you won’t go far wrong when choosing from one of the charcoal grilled meat dishes. The fillet steak, T-bone steak and Ostrich cooked with a sweet berry sauce are great in their own right and well worth trying. Alternatively, a diverse selection of freshly caught fish cooked to perfection using traditional Ibizan recipes are ideal for those with a slightly lighter appetite. The food at Can den Parra is consistently good, with portions being both generous and reasonable which will undoubtedly please some!
Can den Parra is certainly a restaurant that is worth trying, if not for its setting alone. The food isn’t half bad either! Located just a short walk away from the bustling Plaza de Vila, the venue offers a slightly quieter and more relaxed alternative to that of the famous square. As is the case with the majority of good restaurants in the area, booking is advisable during the peak season.
