Like so many of the most distinctive eateries in Ibiza, this restaurant is located in “the middle of nowhere”, on the road to Sant Miquel. What sets Can Caus apart from the rest is a continuous dedication to locally-supplied produce, and in particular, organic meats. With such well-chosen, quality ingredients, I guess it’s not surprising that the food here is so highly thought of; the restaurant being especially popular with the locals.
The speciality here is, without doubt, the homemade sausages; sobrasada and butifarra both being characteristic of these isles, and pretty good too! The servings are plentiful and fairly priced, and make sure you chose some of the locally produced wine (vino payés) to wash it all down with.
If your interest in Ibizan food culture stretches beyond its consumption, or simply if you have been inspired by what you have just tasted then take a look around the sausage production factory. Not only is this a chance to discover more about local traditions, but you can also buy yourself some more of those sausages to take away with you!
